Star Academy is a non-public, non-profit school in the Bay Area that was founded in 1990 to provide individualized education to students who struggle in traditional classroom settings. The school offers specialized classroom learning along with access to experts in language arts, speech, math, occupational therapy, and emotional wellness. With personalized support and a nurturing environment, students experience significant academic progress and build confidence in their abilities. Star Academy also partners with the College of Marin, offering students access to college courses and additional support for independent living skills. Their admissions process requires:
1. Completed online application.
2. Educational achievement test with present level of performance in decoding, reading,
comprehension, writing, math, science and social studies.
3. Current immunization record.
4. Neuropsychological evaluation (if available).
5. School psychological evaluation (if available) including intelligence test results.
6. Speech and language assessment summary (if available).
7. Occupational therapy evaluation (if available).
8. Copy of IEP (if available).
9. Copies of the last two recent report cards.
