When is the best time to start college admissions test prep?

College-bound students usually take SAT practice tests and ACT practice tests the summer before junior year to get ready for the test in the spring or winter. However, we strongly suggest that you start preparing during the freshman year, or even earlier if possible. The reason behind this is that you would need to develop more than just your test-taking skills, but also your reading comprehension, critical thinking, and writing skills, particularly if you are planning to take the ACT.
