How long does it take to prepare for the SAT and ACT?

The amount of time needed to get ready for the ACT and SAT exams can range from three months to more than a year, depending on your needs, experience, and desired score level. A lot of students begin preparing well in advance, starting in their junior year, to accurately assess their current abilities. Starting early allows you to prepare well in advance by providing additional time to review skills and areas requiring improvement, and to practice test-taking strategies.

Additionally, starting sooner will allow you to extend your study time for both exams because of their distinct features, in case you plan on taking both. Differences in content and format between the SAT and ACT require more time for overall preparation. We advise you to sign up for one-on-one test prep classes to receive immediate feedback and personal attention, avoiding any wasted time.

At Cardinal Education, we have expert test prep tutors with years of experience helping students get the highest possible scores. Our students also have unlimited access to exclusive SAT and ACT practice tests, materials, and books not available elsewhere.
