How does UPrep support its students?

UPrep understands that adolescence is a tricky period for any individual. This is why the school provides a variety of resources in order to guide students through tricky social scenarios while also maximizing their potential for growth. Each grade level, and by extension each student, is paired with a counselor who will follow them through their time at UPrep. This is done to allow deep relationships to form between counselor and student. Counselors actively participate in the community, monitoring the social and emotional of everyone in order to foster a safe and caring learning environment. Furthermore, UPrep utilizes Social Emotional Learning (SEL) programs that help students how to move through the world with intention and purpose. The SEL curriculum involves UPrep teachers infusing lessons and projects that teach reflection, teamwork, organizational skills, recognizing strengths, and perspective-taking. Students meet weekly through Community Time to develop their SEL skills in structured settings.
