What tests are required for Episcopal Day School of St. Matthew’s admissions?

The Episcopal Day School of St. Matthew has specific admissions requirements that vary by grade level.

Pre-K:

  • Playdate Assessment: Selected candidates will be invited to participate in a playdate assessment, allowing teachers to observe social and developmental readiness. 

 

Kindergarten:

  • Mandatory Assessment: All kindergarten applicants are required to attend an assessment session on February 1, 2025, to evaluate their readiness for the program. 

 

Grades 1-4:

  • Shadow Day: Qualified applicants will be invited to spend a day attending classes, which will provide an opportunity to experience the school environment and allow teachers to assess the student’s fit. 

 

Grades 5-8 (Middle School):

  • Shadow Day: Applicants are required to participate in a shadow day scheduled for January 10, 2025, to engage with current students and experience the middle school setting.

 

  • Interview: An interview with the admissions team is part of the evaluation process for middle school applicants.

Specific testing requirements, such as standardized tests like the ISEE, is optional. However, it’s advisable for prospective families to submit their ISEE test scores to strengthen their application.
