Is Community Service required at UPrep?

Due to UPrep’s deep belief in the power of community to develop responsible global citizens, community service is an integral part of the UPrep school experience. Middle school students at UPrep do not have a community service requirement however there are many opportunities for students to get involved through on-campus opportunities such as the Parent Guardian Association and other events and clubs. The UPrep Upper School on the other hand requires that each student completes a minimum of 80 hours by graduation. Students are of course encouraged to do more than 80 years of service for its community. The school requires these service hours in order to teach its students how to be socially responsible students. Students should check the Veracross Student Portal for detailed information on community service. Some examples of on-campus opportunities include Student Ambassador for the Admission and Enrollment Office, Thanksgiving pie bake, and Math Helpers. Students who want to volunteer off-campus can do so with opportunities like Reading Buddies, Food Banks, Park cleanups, and more!
