BASIS Independent Brooklyn is a private school for students from Pre-K to 12th grade that aims to bring together the rigorous content standards from various parts of the world with the spirit and creativity of American education. Currently, the BASIS curriculum has 40 schools globally. Students are exposed to a rigorous academic curriculum and can choose an elective as early as 6th grade and have foreign language options starting from 7th grade. Students are required to take Honors or Advanced Placement (AP) level coursework starting 9th grade. Students in the 12th grade kick off the year with a 3-month, off-site Senior Project on a topic of each student’s choosing. The school also offers virtual summer programs, partnership programs, and specialty camps. The athletics program has both competitive and non-competitive sports with multiple offerings that change each season.
